a brighton bridal editorial, PART ONE

Dani by the sea: a wedding editorial test shoot for fun. The concept was simple: maximalist bows, minimalist everything else. No guests, no vows, no ceremony, no fiancé/e… perhaps no actual wedding at all? (We did have Dani strolling up to Hove Town Hall, where you can't actually get married, after all.) But there was cake, obviously. And it was strawberry stuff and delicious.

We brought in everyone and everything that we thought would be the most fun. First on the list was hair and make-up genius Alev Miller of Flaming Bride, because she's the best, and the dream bows of Fi Graham that we'd first encountered back in the day at Most Curious. The cake hunt was a mission – we knew exactly who we'd connect with for cake in London or Los Angeles, but not in Brighton… until we found the magnificent Bee May Baker. For stationery, I did allow myself to indulge my paper lust and bring in samples from Los Angeles (by my forever stationery crush, Goods Gang). A few pieces were mine – the Shrimps earrings, the Olivia von Halle eye mask, the Ciate London nail art, the Enthusiast tie-dye t-shirt, and the Rixo shoes – which made the shoot feel like a true DIY day.

And then there was Dani, an actual real-life goddess who arrived in our lives that morning and will never leave our hearts (our our palms, which she read at lunch).

This is part one; part two of our Brighton bridal editorial to follow very soon.
