VENUE

Summer and Mick brought all their best people cross-country to California for the destination wedding of dreams. Everything was brilliant, from the moment in the morning when the bride described her hair and make up as "inspired by the most important women in my life… like Pamela Anderson" to the end when she jumped in the pool.

There was ugly crying in the courtyard. There was topless dancing in the bridal suite. There were painted flowers. There was a marching band (and at least one smashed lightbulb). There was a tiny dog running wild on the dance floor. There were cowboy hats. There was Shark Pig on Super 8 and The Flashdance on the decks. There was silly string. There was the floofiest, most fairytale Odylyne The Ceremony wedding dress. There were windmill portraits and sparkle filters.

Plus the Ace, as always, served our creative colleagues and us an actual feast for dinner. Dining with Kristen of Flwrpstl, Missy and her Antonia Christianson Events team et al felt like we were at a little desert party all of our own.

It was the first time we'd been back to the Ace since Emily and Alex's incredible, emotional lockdown-eve wedding in March 2020. It was the most joyous return. We will never forget it. Summer and Mick, thank you forever.
